A crucial aspect of our work in Peru is sharing it with people around the world. This collection of videos were all filmed and produced by SOLAC volunteers.

SOLAC and UVa Make Difference in Alto Peru

In July of 2007, SOLAC undertook a small sideproject outside of Colegio Alto Peru: painting its playground. Through our connections at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and the University of Virginia, we received a donation of painting materials from the University of Virginia Summer Program in Peru. The playground itself was second hand, donated last year and in serious need of a new paint job. Thirty-five students from the UVa Summer Program in Peru came out in force to help out, knocking out half of the work in a single day. Though the playground is small, it lies just across the stream from where many of the children work. Painting it is an important symbol for the school and community.
